Around Clovelly

The Milky Way Adventure Park is a day in the country that is out of this world, with 5 major rides and loads of live shows each and every day. With an exciting mix of fun and education, there is something for everyone, from toddlers to teens, even the grown ups love it too! Where else can you get up close and personal with a bird of prey, lose yourself in a maze or see a death defying escapology show, whatever the weather.

Come and ride The Cosmic Typhoon, Devon’s Tallest, Fastest and Longest Roller Coaster, if you dare! The Cosmic Typhoon is a brand new roller coaster ride installed in 2007, the height restriction is 1.2m, but don’t worry there is another one for the smaller adventurers on the way, The Big Apple with a height restriction of 0.8m, if all goes well it should be up and running for the start of the 2008 season.

There is plenty to do even on rainy days, with indoor attractions ranging from alien adventures on the Clone Zone Ride to the fantastic Droid Destroyer Dodgems, not to mention the death defying slides and ball pools of the Time Warp, the North Coast’s largest indoor play area. Young children are well catered for too, at The Milky Way’s Fantasy Farm, where the under 5’s can enjoy their own ball pools, sand pits, play tractors and more.

See Merlin, Semi Finalist in Britain's Got Talent 2009, perform his death defying escapology show six days a week. Plus new for 2010 is a fun and interactive show designed specially for under 5s.

For those who don’t wear themselves out on the rides, there’s plenty more activities to enjoy. There’s an indoor range where you can try your hand at shooting, archery or golf, and even an 18 hole putting green where you can put your skills to the test. Or why not take in the beautiful surrounding countryside, with a trip on the Milky Way Railway?

Prepare to be amazed at the Milky Way’s North Devon Bird of Prey Centre. Twice daily shows, where some of the falcons can reach speeds of over 100 mph, are conducted by the Head Falconer, and the simulated night time environment of the indoor Owl Theatre enchants young and old alike.

If you’re feeling peckish after all that activity, there’s a choice of cafés. The Thatched Café offers traditional lunches and a sunny tea garden, while the Galactic Café overlooks the Time Warp and is ideal for children’s birthday parties.

So for a great day out with 5 major rides and 6 live shows and some of the biggest under cover facilities in the South West, the Milky Way is the place to be, and all the rides are free!
